Mission 4. School Kitchen Stocktake

Kitchen HelperNumber45 min

You help out in the school kitchen. Before this week's food delivery arrives, you've been asked to check the shelves and work out what needs to be reordered.

We are learning to

  • Use subtraction to work out how much stock has been used.
  • Use division and rounding up to decide how many packs to order.

Success criteria, I can

  • I can find how much stock was used, using subtraction.
  • I can explain why we round an order up, not down, to a whole pack.
  • I can compare an order total to a budget and make a decision.

Adapting this mission to your community

  • Replace the item list with what's actually used in your school kitchen, canteen, or a local community store.
  • Use real pack sizes and prices if your kitchen or a local store is willing to share them.
  • If a school kitchen doesn't fit, adapt this to a family pantry or a community store instead.
